180LA alum Cary Ruby has joined Bailey Lauerman as group creative director. Ruby will operate out of the agency’s L.A. office, working closely with managing partners Chantal Sagnes and Kelly Mertesdorf.
“Authentically connecting with America outside of the coasts has never been more complicated, and Cary brings a depth of understanding about these unique, diversified audiences that will directly strengthen our creative product,” said Greg Andersen, CEO of Bailey Lauerman.
Ruby brings serious creative chops to the role, having worked on major brands like Expedia, DIRECTV, Volkswagen, HP, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Toyota, Disney/Pixar and many others. His awards show wins include Cannes and One Show, among many others, while working for agencies including 72andsunny, 180LA, Deutsch, TBWA and Saatchi.
“Everyone in this business talks about creating big ideas, Cary belongs to the select group who have actually done it on a regular basis,” added Carter Weitz, Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of Bailey Lauerman. “When you add to that his talent for inspiring teams it made him the perfect choice for us and the brands we represent.”
Ruby will lead creative for key Bailey L.A. clients including Panda Express and Cuties. Cary will report directly to Carter Weitz, based in Omaha.
