BL Welcomes Abby Meyer to Lead New Social Practice Wins

BL’s PR and Social Media practice has doubled in size over the past year as we help client brands navigate new communications challenges due to the global pandemic and develop corporate messaging and policies around important social justice issues.

BL has also onboarded several new accounts and is excited to welcome back Abby Meyer as social media director to help lead this new business.

Abby is a former BL intern who has grown her career working for advertising firms in Kansas City such as Barkley and Intouch Group, managing the social presence for national consumer, retail and pharmaceutical brands.

In her prior role as social media manager, Abby was responsible for developing social campaign strategies, leading community engagement and managing social influencer activations for brands like SodaStream, At Home and various pharmaceutical brands.

Before her move to Kansas City, she led the social media strategy at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. She frequently collaborated with faculty members on social media initiatives including building their professional social presence, Twitter engagement strategy, recruitment ad campaigns, content creation, and launching social media channels for individual departments within UNMC.

She is originally from Lincoln, Nebraska, and obtained bachelor’s degrees in advertising and elementary education and a master’s degree in Integrated Media Communications from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

In her free time, Abby focuses on the non-profit she is co-founding, photography, working on the freelance video production crew for sports events, and cheering for the Huskers.
